Call to Order: By Zimmerman at 7:05 p.m.

Minutes of Meeting, Feb 10, '11: Approved; Motion by Moore, second by Reilly

Treasurer's Report: Passed to all; Approved by acclamation

Committee Reports

Membership (Moore): Three new members via application in latest newsletter. Assn joined Bedford and Pittsylvania Chambers of Commerce.

Newsletter & Calendar (Moore): Deadline next newsletter is Apr 15. 10 of 150 calendars remain.

Debris (Winters): Report dated Mar 5 by e-mail attached. Zimmerman: Bob Rankin will again design T-shirt; Sam Skillman will again signup sponsors; APCO hasn't offered info regarding its role in Beautification Day, has signed 5-yr contract for stocking debris at Brumfield boat ramp, skimmer is being repaired. Bratz: Rosanne & I volunteer to man the grill at the picnic.

Navigational Aids (Pettit): No change to info reported at Feb meeting.

Water Quality (Kolotushkina): Report dated Mar 10 by e-mail attached.

Safety (Caprario): 40 signed up to attend Boating Safety Course Mar 19. Will conduct Vessel Safety Checks at Tri-County Marina May 21 during Beautification Day.

Health: Zimmerman: Glasscock has resigned to pursue other interests.

Public Relations (Bratz): Report dated Mar 10 attached.

a. Finalizing "Land & Lake-scaping" program on riparian zones, aquatic plants & fire safety Apr 23, 8:30 a.m. to 12, at Train Station; Speakers from Ferrum College, a local business, SMLA & Va. DOF confirmed. Reps of Va. DC&R and Va. Co-op. Extension invited. Board agreed to open this program to the public and have membership applications, maps, newsletters and Assn. items & raffle tickets for Reilly's quilt available for sale.

b. Announcements about this program, Beautification Day & Vessel Safety Checks will be sent to Beaton for dissemination to members via list serve.

c. Draft press release about Beautification Day sent to Winters for accuracy review. Sponsor names will be provided by him on May 1. Final release will be sent to local and regional news outlets on May 2.

d. Will provide compilation of SPEAK UP Survey results to Board at April meeting.

Old Business

Zimmerman: Dr. Cohen will be speaker at April General Membership Meeting.

New Business

a. Board Member Replacements. Zimmerman: Asked members to recommend individuals to serve on the Board as Secretary & Health Committee chair; said Executive Committee will assume role of Nominating Committee.

b. Siren Noise at Dam. Zimmerman will pursue issue with APCO

c. Tri-County Relicensing Commission. Zimmerman: TCRC pursuing with state officials issues of APCO's authorities vis-à-vis provisions in the latest SMP.

d. TLAC. Zimmerman: Intend to invite the three commissioners to speak at a future Board meeting so we can better judge whether the Assn should join TLAC.
