Call to Order: By Zimmerman at 7:04 p.m.
Minutes of Meeting on May 12, '11: Moved by Moore to approve, Seconded by Reilly: Passed by voice.
Treasurer's Report (Moore): Submitted. Attached.
Tri-County Lake Administrative Commission (TLAC) Briefing & Q & A: Pam Dinkle, Lake Management & Project Coordinator of TLAC, addressed history, current organization & operations, and known & potential changes to TLAC occasioned by the recent relicensing of Smith Mountain Pumped Storage Project. Others present: Chuck Neudorfer, Bedford Co. Supervisor & Chairman, TLAC; Kathleen Guzi, Bedford Co. Administrator; Stan Goldsmith, Campbell Co. Supervisor; David Laurrell, Campbell Co. Administrator.
Debris (Winters): 1. AEP hasn’t been on lake since Nov ’10. 2. APCO contracted with Lakeside Services for debris removal. 3. Report- “Installment 1” attached; for discussion at August meeting, including proposal to have EMS cell phone numbers on hand at collection sites.
Membership (Moore): 1. Report- May 31 attached. 2. Articles for newsletter due to Dalton by July 11.
Navigational Aids (Pettit): Will contact APCO’s Parcell re: status of nav aids project now that debris contract has been let.
Water Quality (Lobue): Report- June 9 attached.
Safety (Caprario): Performed five Vessel Safety Checks May 21. This service hasn’t been well-received so I don’t intend to do them in the future.
Health: No report.
Public Relations (Bratz): 1. Report- June 6 attached. 2. Approx. 35 people attended Beautification Day Picnic. 3. Disassembled grill within my capability, cleaned it & refilled three 40-lb. propane tanks, including two I donated with a new regulator.
Old Business: Storage Shed. Caprario highlighted 8-ft. x 10-ft. steel-framed, metal-sided storage shed at approx. $1,500 to be positioned at Tri-County Marina. Bratz moved, Moore seconded to purchase at a cost not to exceed $1,500. Passed by hand vote.
New Business: (Zimmerman): Annual Meeting is July 9, 2 p.m., Tri-County Marina; Brad Wright, Va. Dept. of Forestry to speak about the state’s “Firewise” Program.
Also: Andrew Lester announced the Roanoke River now on Federal government’s Top 10 Endangered Rivers List and Phillip Loveton (sp?) passed out sample “Resolution Supporting the Moratorium on Uranium Mining in Virginia.”
